Results of Taipei Intercity MCR Exchange Tournament

The Taipei Intercity MCR Exchange Tournament (TIMET) was successfully held at the CML Competition Base in Chinese Taipei from March 29th to 31st, 2025.

 

The event aimed to foster exchanges among mahjong enthusiasts across Asia and promote the standardization and global development of Competitive Mahjong (MCR).

 

Teams from four cities—Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Singapore, and Shiga (Japan)—participated, with a total of 44 players competing.

 

The tournament followed MCR Rules and consisted of 10 games:

– Games 1 to 6: Players were randomly assigned through a draw to encourage interaction with participants from different cities.

– Games 7 to 10: The high-to-high method was adopted to enhance competitiveness.

1st: Wei Yong-Hong (Taipei CML Team | Captain)

2nd: Guo Ming-Hsin (Taipei Red Cloud Team | Captain)

3rd: Lau Chun-Wai (Hong Kong Seven-Shifted Pairs Team | Captain)

4th: Zheng Li-Wei (Taipei MCR Study Club)

5th: Chen Rang (Taipei Shen Gong Bao Team)

6th: Edwin Phua (Singapore Equatorial Joyful Team)

7th: Kai Chang (Taipei Shen Gong Bao Team | Captain)

8th: Zheng Shuo-Zhen (Taipei CML Team)

 

The awards were presented by Mr. Dai Xingxiong, Chairman of Taiwan Mind Sports Association.

The tournament provided a high-level platform for Asian mahjong enthusiasts and increased public awareness of competitive mahjong through live broadcasts and media coverage. Organizers announced plans to expand future participation to include more cities.
