The 7th edition of SBR Moscow Open took place in Russia
The 7th SBR Moscow Open took place on May 25, 2024 in Moscow at the Meridian Central Cultural Center.
20 players from Moscow and the region, including 6 players from China, took part in the championship.
During the uncompromising struggle, a new champion of Moscow was determined — Denis Lugannikov, an experienced international tournaments mahjong player.
Winner and runners-up:
- 1st place and champion title — Denis Lugannikov
- 2nd place — Ilya Kvasha
- 3rd place — Tan Bowen 谭博文 (China)

History of SBR tournaments in Russia
The first SBR tournament in Russia has been organized by Vitaly Novikov and Denis Lugannikov in June 2017. 20 players competed for the title of the first SBR Moscow champion.
In 2022 “Junior and Family” mahjong educational programs have started in Moscow leading to the entirely new cohorts of mahjong players. In 2024 many Chinese players residing in Moscow entered SBR tournaments.
