Upon the Successful Completion of China Mahjong Paiwang Tournament, Japanese Player Oohori Ryuichi Took the Champion
On March 10-12, 2017, Beijing time, the 18th “TREYO Cup” China Mahjong Paiwang and Masters Tournament, hosted by the Mahjong Branch of the Tianjin Sports Federation which is the regional member of the Mahjong International League, was held in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province.
The 18th China Mahjong Paiwang Tournament, lasted for 3 days and attracted 440 players from China, Japan, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and other regions. Taking the concept that “by advocating competitive mahjong, opposing gambling mahjong and guiding leisure mahjong, jointly promote the academic theory construction of mahjong and promote mahjong towards the world mind sports games” as its objectives, the tournament hopes that more people can be attracted by the charming of competitive mahjong.

After the fierce competition in 10 rounds, Oohori Ryuichi, a Japanese player, finally took the champion. During the Fixed Seating Competition of 8 rounds, Oohori Ryuichi gave a great performance, obtained 28 points of standard scores and took the second place on the scoreboard. During the final game of the 10th round, there was the situation that the one who got the first place of the table would be the final champion. Eventually, Oohori Ryuichi, when competing with three Chinese players, stood up to great pressure, and took the first place of his table with the 140 points of competition scores in the tenth round. After that, he won the championship of the whole tournament at one stroke. Chinese Player Li Weimin and Tang Hong took the second place and third place of the event respectively. Additionally, the top sixteen of the event would all obtain the prize and certificate of honor.
