GMCL Unveils Schedule Exciting Live Cast to Kick Off Tonight
Following a more-than-one-month busy preparation, Global Mahjong Champions League (GMCL)will officially kick off at the online platform of mahjong.pokermonster.com at 19:30, August 17thBeijing time.
A total of eight teams from Asia-Oceania Region(three from China mainland, two from Japan, one from Singapore, Chinese Taipei, and Australia, respectively) will compete fiercely in the first match. With 6 sessions of competition, the top four teams will have another two sessions of competition. And then, the top two teams will be qualified for the global final. The third winner will have an extra opportunity to rival a player from America-Africa Region in a bid to get the qualification for the finals.
The gunfire of Europe Region will also kick off at 19:00, August 21st, Beijing time. There are already four teams in Europe Region, respectively from Italy, Spain, Russia, and Switzerland. Switzerland team was ranked into Top 4 in the 1stWorld Mahjong Sports Games in 2015. By August 20th, more teams might join in. With 6 sessions of competition, the top one from the four teams will directly qualify into the global finals. The second place winner will continue to participate in the America-Africa Region in order to go on with the league competition.
Due to time difference, the Canada team from America Region and the Reunion (France) team from Africa Region shall have to compete with gold-diggers from Asia-Oceania Region and Europe Region. By then, Canada team and Reunion team will wait at ease and carry out a 6-session competition in two days against the second place winner of Europe and 3rdwinner of Asia-Oceania, for the last qualification title.
GMCL test matches concluded on August 14th. GMCL Organizing Committee will seek to provide opportunities of practice sessions for players during the matches. The competition will adopt globally simultaneous live-cast in the whole process, and arrange professional narrators, in order to bring about first-hand competition information and professional international mahjong knowledge.
