Fangzhuang Club – CHN and Shuimu – CHN Obtain a Promotion as Top Two Teams, While JKMA & OMU – JPN Receives a Regretful Elimination
The semi-final of GMCL in Asia and Oceania Region is held on September 28, and after 32 hands of mahjong games, Fangzhuang Club – CHN and SHUIMU – CHN stands out from the eight teams from Asia-Oceania Region, and they get two admission tickets for the final in advance. The date of November 5 will be the time for the top two Chinese teams in Chengdu, China.
The Wonderful Dragon – CHN ranking the third qualifies for competing in America-Africa region. And they will compete with the team ranking the second in Europe region, Canada Team in America region and Reunion Island Team (France) in Arica region for the last seat of the final from October 1 to October 2. However, JKMA & OMU – JPN fails to get through the bottleneck of the fourth place in eight sessions of the games in preliminary phase, which brings forth its early regretful elimination.
At the beginning of semi-final, Wonderful Dragon – CHN, as one of top three Chinese teams, suffers a disappointing start. Although shoot rate of the team is lowest in the four teams, but its win rate is 26.21% only. In the 13th hand of the first session, Qi Lin, leader of Wonderful Dragon – CHN (ID: 璧寒) chooses little three dragons when other players in the same direction choose mixed shifted chows and points collection, which win 16 IMPs for the his team. But the team fails to retrieve defeat. Wonderful Dragon term suffers a setback in the second session in succession and wins -43 IMPs; consequently, its final score is -26 IMPs. Unfortunately, it just misses the first opportunity for the final and has to go to America and Africa region for continuous fighting.
JKMA & OMU – JPN is suppressed by the top three Chinese teams in the semi-final and is strenuous to break out of the encirclement obviously. The team is hit by the -48 IMPs in the first session of semi-final and -11 IMPs in the second session which is litter better though. But the term is finally out with a total aggregate score of -64 IMPs.
According to rules of 20% score aggregate, SHUIMU – CHN is in the lead with the tiny margin of 5.8 IMPs before the opening of semi-final. While the team just gains 4 IMPs in the first session and was defeated by 28 IMPs of Fangzhuang Club – CHN undoubtedly. Although SHUIMU – CHN regains a game with the score of 26 IMPs (the score of Fangzhuang Club – CHN is 14 IMPs), the team still comes off the second best by tiny score difference of 6 IMPs. Finally, the two teams enter into final of GMCL side by side. We are looking forward to their more excellent performance in the final.
